At BA Dentist, I prefer to place Megagen AnyRidge dental implants. This implant system offers several advantages over other systems. The first advantage is the size of the implant threads. The implant threads are much larger than typical implants which allows the implant to get maximum contact and integration with the bone resulting in more stability. Another advantage is the use of a morse taper, that connects the implant to the crown on top.
A morse taper is a precision connection so once the crown is connected to the implant it becomes “cold welded”, meaning it is very difficult to loosen and separate. After so many cycles of chewing on implants not designed with a morse taper its somewhat common for the screw that connects the crown and abutment to the implant to loosen up. This creates a crown that wobbles but won’t come off. To fix this, a new crown and new screw is often required. Quite simply, I want to provide dentistry with as few hassles as possible and use materials that are very strong and long lasting. That’s why I choose to place AnyRidge implants.
